And she'll paint the town black making fun and simple Halloween decorations!
I had a stack of purple chargers from a Christmas tea party Madi and I hosted back in 2009 for some of the teenage girls she loves and looks up to. These plates were sitting in a cabinet out of sight, out of mind.
Since purple has become a staple Halloween color, I remembered those chargers and pulled two of them out. I painted the centers with chalkboard paint...
Then added some ribbon, jeweled stickers, and chalk ink messages with whimsical Halloween flair! I put one in Madi's room.
And made this cute little one as well. I might have to pull out the rest of those chargers, this is fun!
I also came across an old metal sign that used to hang in my laundry room when we first got married.
With chalkboard paint, chalk ink, and more of that same ribbon, the sign got a fun fall makeover and is now hanging in my entryway with photos of Trick or Treats past!
I wonder what I'll turn into a chalkboard next?!
Enjoy the season! Have a treat, or make yourself one!
Great ideas. I have some chalkboard paint and chargers that I don't use, I'll get working on them tomorrow.

What a beautiful family you have...this is a great idea. I've been looking for something to try chalkboard paint on - maybe some great old plates would be a good place to start. Thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for sharing this great idea! Take care.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! Love your halloween chalkboard signs :) I love that chalk board paint too, it's amazing stuff...I have still got a can...it really goes a long way... and now after seeing your post, I have gotta get to stirring around here, and find something else to paint with it, I know I've got some other things I could re-purpose...I have used the chalk paint on a silver tray before and am loving it, and use it all the time, but I bet I could find an old wooden plaque and paint it too...thanks for sharing...you are so creative :)
